The AMSRS and our Fair Data Program is proud to be a supporter of this year’s Privacy Awareness Week. Running from 12 to 18 May 2019, Privacy Awareness Week is an annual initiative supported by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) that aims to promote and raise awareness of privacy issues and the importance of protecting personal information. ‘
It is also an opportunity for organisations to develop and reassess systems, processes, culture, and practice to make sure the protection of our participants/ customers’ personal information is a top priority.

Privacy and protecting personal information is important to us, that’s why the AMSRS provide a range of privacy resources for members/ partners and why we launched the Fair Data accreditation program for organisations in November 2018 to show our participants, consumers and clients that we take privacy seriously and protect people’s personal data in line with requirements of Australian Privacy Law.
This year’s message is Don’t be in the Dark on Privacy. Over the week the OAIC is shining a light on five privacy priorities including: Notifiable Data Breaches, Online Security, Credit Reporting, Health and Your Data.
