Polling Inquiry interim discussion paper released

AMSRO has released an interim discussion paper on ‘Disclosure standards for election and political polling in Australia’ relating to its inquiry into the performance of last year’s pre-federal election opinion on polls.

The Research Society welcomes the discussion paper, which reviews the current state of disclosure standards in Australia and makes recommendations for improvement. We also welcome its recommendation that The Research Society be consulted in discussions on improving disclosure standards. Professional standards in all types of research have always been a key focus of the Society and we are happy to participate in any moves to strengthen the standards of research conducted in Australia and enhance perceptions of the profession.

AMSRO is inviting submissions on the discussion paper and the consultation period is open until 12 June 2020. Any Member wishing to read the paper and/or make a submission can do so here.
