MEDIA RELEASE: 9 July 2020: Lewers Research has released its 11th Community Response Now report into the health, social, economic and behavioural impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, with Australians gradually accepting life and work under restrictions and one in five reporting their working life has been impacted.
“When the COVID-19 pandemic started, it seemed unlikely that it would have much of an effect on Australia. We usually dodge these things by virtue of our island continent status, but the Coronavirus has proven that it is indeed a small world and the global effects are keenly felt by us all. We have a new vocabulary – isolation, lockdown, Stage 3, hotspots, social distancing; new behaviours – hand washing, sanitizing, no hugging; and we suspect that face-masks will be the latest must-have fashion.
However, recent developments across Australia, and especially in our home state of Victoria, show that this pandemic is far from over.”
