The Wave 21 results for the COVID-19 Weekly Business Sentiment Tracker published by ACA Research in partnership with TEG Insights has been released.
ACA Research, Managing Director, James Organ said: “…confidence regarding the economic recovery in Australia continues to increase despite some slightly weaker revenue data. It is very positive to see the upward trend in recruitment, but the lack of candidates needs to be addressed to ensure the recovery is not hindered by a lack of productive people in the workforce, especially as we run into the busy Christmas period.”
Some of the highlights include:
- 63% reporting declining revenues, compared to 59% in the previous wave
- 20% are currently hiring for new or replacement positions
- 73% of SMEs hiring are finding it difficult to fill roles
