Ex-Kantar Head of Advertising Research joins Cubery as General Manager

MEDIA RELEASE: March 1 2021: Cubery, a tech-based market research agency headquartered out of Melbourne, Australia, today announces the appointment of former Kantar Head of Advertising Research, Sam Walters, as General Manager, Consulting.

Cubery is a specialist advertising and product development research agency, working with some of the world’s biggest brands across Australia, the United Kingdom, United States, and New Zealand. Sam joins Cubery with nearly 20 years’ industry experience, having headed-up key global accounts while at Kantar – including Coca-Cola, Vodafone, Unilever, and Reckitt Benckiser. Prior to that he spent time in Westpac’s consumer research team.

“We’re absolutely ecstatic to have Sam join the team and head up our consultancy division”, said Phil Toppi, managing director and founder of Cubery. “Generalist market research companies and DIY platforms have commoditized market research – providing clients with hordes of data but scarce insight. Sam’s appointment underlines our commitment to not only using technology and automation to make market research as accessible as possible, but also pairing this with the best thinkers in the advertising and product development space.”

“With the rush to integrate technology, the market research industry has too often fallen into the trap of providing fast and unwieldy data at the expense of expertise and guidance”, said Sam Walters. “Marketers and advertisers have slowly begun to realize that data in itself answers very little. I’m thrilled to be joining Cubery on their single-minded mission to help clients build more profitable brands.”
