Cornerstone to this growth is MDI’s proprietary app and RMS (Research Management System) used to efficiently manage mobile insights communities and conduct in-the-moment diary research across the four corners of the Globe. To meet this growth and ensure efficient, insightful, and timely delivery MDI has made several pivotal hires over the last 12 months.
Christine Laurenssen – Business Director Africa
Christine is an innovative yet methodical research professional with 16 years’ experience leading Consumer Planning, Analytics, and Insights initiatives across Africa. Having lived in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa, Christine’s passion for Africa and the African consumer is pivotal to ensuring MDI meets client needs in the dynamic and increasingly important African region.
David Somers – COO
Former Ipsos Chief Commercial Officer of Sub-Saharan Africa, David Somers, joined MDI’s Board and has taken up the COO role for the Group working closely with James Fergusson (Founder & CEO of MDI) to future-proof the business. In addition, David takes up the Managing Director role for Europe and Africa.
James Fergusson comments: “David offers a wealth of knowledge that stems from his 20 plus years’ experience across sub-Saharan Africa both with innovative startups and global agencies which increasingly proves to be highly valuable both to our clients but also the MDI Board as we challenge the status quo and continue to develop innovative approaches to help solve clients’ challenges.”
Hellen Sillis – Global Head of Qualitative
An FMCG expert, Hellen brings to MDI more than 25 years of experience in insights, mainly specializing in qualitative research, leading global client relationships, and conducting advanced qualitative research across more than 40 countries. Hellen also prides herself in strategic storytelling.
Most recently with IPSOS, Hellen is charged with harnessing MDI’s proprietary mobile platform to develop cutting edge qualitative techniques for both developed and emerging markets. Based in Belgium, Hellen also adds bench strength to MDI’s growing European team.
Sam Stelitano – CFO
A result driven finance leader with vast international experience, Sam Stelitano joined MDI as CFO reporting to James Fergusson. For the past eight years, Stelitano was Head of Finance for SMEC’s global managed services division where the expertise he developed provides much synergy with MDI as a rapidly growing international res-tech insights organization.
Sarah Gill-Kildea – Insights Director
Sarah joined MDI’s Australian team from Target Australia where she led the retailer’s Insights function. Sarah brings to MDI 20 years of experience in strategic analysis, marketing planning, brand management, development of compelling customer value propositions, market research and segmentation. Fergusson commented “Sarah adds another string to MDI’s bow as we harness our mobile platform to deliver innovative and strategic retail research approaches.”
