Shortlist revealed for the Research Awards

Some of Australia’s best researchers have been recognised in the shortlist for this year’s prestigious Research Awards.

Good research leads to business and government decisions that enrich the lives of all Australians. It shapes government policy at all levels and informs day to day corporate and commercial decision making. The Research Effectiveness Award categories of Consumer Insight, Public Policy/ Social Impact and Technology & Innovation, provide a platform from which to demonstrate the positive impact good research has on business and social policy planning and the important role that research professionals and companies play in modern Australian society.

The Research Awards also recognise one of the industry’s up and coming stars with a Young Researcher of the Year award and for the very first time, a Research Organisation of the Year award will recognise one of the many research organisations that are committed to high quality research, innovation and professional development as well as contributing to the profession and research more broadly.

Winners of the awards will be revealed at the Research Awards Night on 6 May 2020 to be live-streamed across the country to the research, insights and analytics community. The event will be hosted by the research, insights and analytics peak body, The Research Society, as part of their Human Insights Conference.

Tiina Raikko

The Research Society President Tiina Raikko said the entrants in this year’s awards were of a high standard.

“We were really impressed with the calibre of entries in this year’s awards” Ms Raikko said.

“Very few industries have the power to influence corporate and government decision-making as we do and the Research Effectiveness Award entries showcase some of the amazing work research and insights professionals are doing. We are making significant and recognisable contributions to commercial success and social policy outcomes across the country so it’s only right that we reward those who are excelling in this”
