What you will be doing:
We’re looking for a commercially savvy Market Researcher with strong technical skills to join our team at NZTE. The purpose of this role is to help companies make informed, mission-critical decisions on how to best enter or expand in market. You will be part of a small dynamic team delivering solutions to both companies and the NZTE team in Australia. You will touch many sectors and industries.
This varied role allows you to support in end-to-end solutions from initial assessment and planning to design and analysis of recommendations. You’ll play an integral role in scoping market opportunities for diverse organisations through the production of high-quality research reports that verify assumptions and identify potential pitfalls, helping companies achieve greater success. You will conduct market research activity and maintain a repository of information and insights. Working proactively with a variety of stakeholders, you’ll be hunting for knowledge, trends, and insights to benefit companies across the region in their commercial aims.
You’ll be meticulous in nature, adept at ensuring data accurately reflects outcomes via statistical models and excel at presenting commercial insights visually to a range of audiences, technical and non-technical alike. This is a role where you develop relationships at the senior level, working with and presenting to c-suite stakeholders who will utilise your insights and recommendations to craft actionable market strategies. This role will be key in the delivery of core customer facing work to help customer companies establish and grow their business internationally through specialist market research and analysis.
What you will need to be successful:
Ideally, you have a broad understanding of a variety of sectors in Australia and understand how companies grow and scale. You will have a comprehensive market research and analysis toolkit which allows you to expertly advise businesses how to increase commercial results. Experience as a data scientist would be advantageous. Technically savvy and methodical, you’ll possess a thorough understanding of statistical modelling and technical systems e.g. Power BI, Tableau; Carto; integral to market research best practices.
You’ll be a deep listener, who takes time to really understand the goals of companies and their goals, allowing you to provide comprehensive future-proofed solutions. Your ability to stand back, work with the team to look at the big picture, offering research and insights will ensure success.
With your enthusiastic, ‘can-do’ attitude, proactive nature, creative problem-solving skills and ability to work in virtual teams, you will manage multiple exciting market research initiatives for a range of stakeholders. Utilising your excellent relationship building skills, you will engage to expertly inform approach, insights and final recommendations.
